Anti Plastic Awareness Programmes

Plastics are considered to be one of the modern methods of invention. As it normally carry the image of 'USE AND THROW' people started using plastic materials for their convenience.

Plastics can not be used included in compost manure. They have to be de-stroyed by fire. Government has redrafted an Act called "RECYCLED PLASTIC MANUFACTURE AND USAGE RULES 1999" with an Amentant in 2003.

Kirusha Trust has taken up the challenge of stopping the usage of plastic in all levels and it started in Activities in all levels and it started in Activities in all its project villages. Government of Tamilnadu has appreciated the activitie of Kirusha trust and the collector of Cuddalore District has appointed the Managing Trustee Mr.V. Tirisangu, as the member in the Cuddalore District Plastic Awareness Campaign Committee a Great Honour to Kirusha Trust!

Melpattambakkam Town Panchayat has issued orders to Kirusha Trust to remove all plastic wages in the entire Town Panchayat Area!

Kirusha Trust is carrying out their clearance work for the last three year conse-quently. Based on the rich experience and good work done in plastic Removal work in Melpattambakkam Town Panchayat, Kirusha Trust has prepared a project proposed for removing plastic waste in Cuddalore Town Municipality and awaiting for approval and sanctioning of funds.

Consequently proposals have been submitted to nearest Nationalised Banks and TIIC, Cuddalore and waiting for its approval more number of workers have been employed in removing plastics, thus giving employment opportunities for docontrodden, illererate and poor people.

An Awareness Demonstration programme was organised in Cuddalore Bus stand in June 2014. All plastics were (carry bags, all polythene bags etc) collected in non-compost bags and all other wastes were collected in compost bags. Volunteers of Kirusha Trust and from other Associations joined together in collecting both the waste. People in the bus stand start booking the demonstration, and they themselves automatically joined in the Activity. Awareness notices were distributed to all people.
