Small Savings Programmes for School going Children

Inculcating small savings habit in the charactor formation among children is one of the important activity to be done initially by the parents and them peer group and ultimately by the teachers in the schools. This habit goes a longway in the lives of children !

When parents give pocket money to children most of them spend the money for eatables, spending for peer groups! A few percentage of children do the saving with their parents or the any of the dependable persons or with an NGO functioning in their Areas.

Kirusha Trust has initiated this small savings habit to the school going children. Proper savings Registers were opened and Accounts are being maintained separately for each children. Seperate saving card is issued to all children.

When the children go to the nearest bank for opening a Savings Bank Account, Kirusha Trust showed interest and informs the Bank Manager that they are enrolled themselves in the Trust, student small savings scheme. The Bank inturn takes the recommendations of Kirusha Trust as Guarantee and without any diffifulty opened Savings Bank Account to these school going children.

At present nearly 250 school going students enrolled themselves in this scheme. The parents of these children showed their interest and encourages their children! Students who attend the free evening Tution classes, remit their savings amount with the trust officials in student saving fund.
